Care Ambassadors

This project recruits and trains young, enthusiastic social care employees to deliver a standard presentation and lead workshop activities.  It then matches the Ambassador to local schools or colleges who have requested a presentation or a presence at a careers event.  Feedback has been very positive and encouraging from both teachers and students. Joining the team is also a valuable CPD opportunity for the Ambassadors themselves.

The project was first set up to address recruitment and retention issues in the social care sector by meeting with the future workforce.  By raising the profile of social care careers and providing positive role models, we aim to attract young people into working in the social care sector.  It is continuing throughout the academic year 2009/10.

The Care Ambassador Project is funded in East Anglia by Skills for Care Eastern and is part of a larger scheme which runs in many areas throughout England. We have responsibility for the Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and Peterborough sub-region.
